The Client: BSides Newcastle, a vibrant security conference designed by and for the InfoSec community. Here we unite enthusiasts, professionals, and experts eager to share their knowledge and insights in a friendly and supportive atmosphere

Overview: A LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® 2 hr workshop designed and delivered to support the conference.

Brief: To deliver an immersive workshop that would promote discussion and interaction around core themes relating to cyber security and the emerging space tech sector.

The session was designed to help unlock existing knowledge within the team and made use of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology with an emphasis on red and blue responses to new and emerging threats.

Specific questions were created after some initial consultation with the BSides management team that were used to initiate model building and in-depth discussions.

Questions included:

Q1: Build a model that characterizes how a high-performance cyber security team feels

Q2: Characterise how cyber security needs to operate in emerging space tech

Q3: Characterise what a low performing cybersecurity team looks like

Q4:  Illustrate the agents that make up the cybersecurity landscape.

Outcomes: The session delivered some significant insights from all participants and clarity around how future iterations of the sector could start to emerge.
